Málaga Airport, officially Aeropuerto de Málaga-Costa del Sol, is not only one of the busiest airports in Spain, but also an important gateway for tourists visiting the sunny coast of the Costa del Sol. It is located just east of Málaga city, about 8 kilometers from the city center, and serves as a key point for both international and domestic flights to the region.

History and development:
Málaga Airport has a long history dating back to 1919, when it was opened as a military airport. In the following decades, it gradually evolved into a civilian airport. Over the years, several expansions and upgrades have been carried out to meet the increasing demand for air traffic, and today it is one of the most modern and efficient airports in southern Europe.
The last major redevelopment of the airport took place in 2010, when Terminal 3 (T3) was opened to handle the growing number of international travelers. This was part of a larger modernization project to make the airport more capable of handling the global tourism and business travel that has grown significantly in the region.

Málaga Airport consists of three main terminals:
Terminal 1 (T1): This terminal mainly handles international flights, especially from Europe and other continents. It also houses most of the airport's major shops, restaurants and lounge areas.
Terminal 2 (T2): T2 is mainly used for domestic flights. It is slightly smaller than T1 and T3, but has all the necessary facilities for travelers traveling within Spain.
Terminal 3 (T3): T3, opened in 2010, is the largest and most modern terminal. It is used for both domestic and international flights, especially from charter airlines and long-haul flights.
