Lokalbuss i Fuengirola, ett bra alternativ. Nu gratis!
Att åka buss i Fuengirola är ett bra och miljövänligt alternativ, det finns nu 5 olika linjer och från och med 1 januari 2023 är det helt gratis för de som är inskriven i kommunen, andra åker för strax över 1 €!
Ayuntamiento Fuengirola har investerat 30 miljoner euro i detta nya projekt och det består nu av tolv fordon, nio tolv meter långa bussar och tre minibussar.
Hållbarhet är nyckelordet och åtta av de nio bussarna som utgör flottan av kommer att vara hybrider för att främja minskningen av koldioxidutsläppen till atmosfären i staden. Likaså kommer två av minibussarna att förses med lågförbrukningsdiesel.
L1 går numer en rundtur mellan köpcentret Miramar och Carvajal (gränsen mot Benalmadena). Den går var 16:e min mellan 07:15-23:08
L2 en rundtur Boquetillo (Calle Mallorca/Calle Ibiza) – Fuengirola centrum. Var 15:e min mellan 01:15-23:15
L3 La Calerita (Blvr. la Loma) – Los Boliches – Fuengirola centrum. Var 30:e min mellan 07:15-23:08
L4 Los Pacos – Los Boliches. Var 20:e min mellan 07:15-23:15

The local bus services managed by the Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola (Fuengirola Town Council) provide an efficient, modern, and eco-friendly public transport network across the coastal town on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Operated by Interbus on behalf of the municipality, the system consists of 5 urban lines (L1 to L5) that cover the town’s approximately 10 km² area. These routes connect key destinations including the town centre, beaches, residential neighbourhoods like Los Boliches and Carvajal, the Miramar shopping centre, the train station, and the bus station.
Since early 2023, the service has been completely free for registered residents (empadronados) upon presentation of the Tarjeta Ciudadana (Citizen Card) or via the official mobile app. Visitors and non-residents pay a reasonable single ticket fare of €1.20, with a 10-trip pass available for €10. A reduced fare applies for pets (€0.60).
The fleet includes 12 vehicles—nine standard 12-metre buses and three minibuses—ensuring frequent service throughout the day, typically from around 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, with good coverage even on weekends. Buses are modern, air-conditioned, and accessible.
The introduction of free travel for locals has dramatically increased usage, with passenger numbers nearly tripling, demonstrating strong community support for sustainable mobility. Real-time information, timetables, route maps, and live tracking are available through the dedicated “Fuengirola Transporte Urbano” app and the official website www.transportefuengirola.com.
